Our Logo

The fishhook represents Te Matau a Maui, the fishhook of Maui which is the original name for Hawke's Bay. As a symbol, the fishhook represents provision and prosperity.

The two peaks of the hook replicate Mataruahou, (known as Scinde Island) Napier.

Ahuriri is the original name for the Napier district.

The name “Te Kupenga Hauora – Ahuriri” refers to the casting of the net across the Ahuriri district to encompass tamariki, rangatahi, whanau, kuia and koroua with the goal of supporting health and wellness

Our History
Te Kupenga Hauora - Ahuriri is a registered charitable trust based in Napier City and providing health and social services in Hawke’s Bay. The trust began delivering services in 1994 as the result of a close affiliation with the local branch of the Maori Women’s Welfare League and Nga Kohanga Reo (Maori Language nests).

Since then, the service has expanded to include a range of primary health care services. In February 1999, Te Kupenga Hauora - Ahuriri became the distinct legal entity that it is today.
