Miri

Whānau Manaaki
Joined the team November 2022

Miri joined the team in November 2022, but before she officially got her position, she was working long side DHB and Te Kupenga Hauora-Ahuriri in the outreach vaccination team.

Miri was asked if she had an important message for whānau or the community about what she can do for them in her role/position? Her reply was "I'm here at Te Kupenga Hauora-Ahuriri to support and help however I can. To also navigate whānau to the right services to the best of my ability."

Outside of mahi Miri loves going for walks with her dogs. She loves travelling the Motu, visiting her whānau especially her mum and dad and siblings, Miri loves Kapa Haka, anything to do with cultural things.

Miri's greatest achievement so far is her work life she never ever thought she would be working long side the district health board to a Māori health organisation. She was so use to factory work or fast-food industries but all thanks to the people she has in her life. Her partner, family and friends they have helped and supported her. She has soaked up their knowledge and gave the new opportunity ago now she feels like she is winning, and she is eternally grateful.
