Jen has worked for Te Kupenga Hauora-Ahuriri since June 2011.
Role-modelling, mentoring and teaching people she works with or comes into contact with, new skills and knowledge and from this, watching them continue to grow and grow and grow, are her favourite things about her role.
When asked what she enjoys most about working for Te Kupenga Hauora-Ahuriri, she had this to say, “I love how our focus is on improving health and social needs of our community and whānau in Ahuriri and broader areas of Ngāti Kahungunu and It’s awesome coming to a workplace everyday where the way we work (inside and outside of the Organisation) is “as Māori” or from a kaupapa Māori perspective, (eg we open every morning with Karakia, we talk to and treat one another like whānau, we manaaki, we whakawhanauatanga, we speak Te Reo).”
As Corporate Services Manager, Jen is open to feedback and communication from anyone in the community. She asks, “Please contact me if you have any of the following:
- Any questions about any of our Services
- If you’re unsure as to what or where to go for help on any health or social needs or
- If you have any feedback about the quality of care and attention you receive.
Outside of work Jen enjoys being with and spending time with whānau, socialising and training with her closest friends. She also loves swimming, running, participating in different outdoor sporting events (ie Iron Maori, Triple Peaks, Cape Challenge) and eating paua and kina every weekend!
Her greatest achievements so far are her two tamariki (Jahmayne and Audrey-Bayley) and her laid-back, patient and supportive husband (Jiles).
Jen has a Bachelor of Business Studies in Accounting and Marketing.
