Taniora is of Ngāti Porou and Ngāti Maniapoto descent.
In her role as a Youth Navigator as they are affectionately known as, ‘Youthies’, Taniora feels comfortable working for an organisation who shares the same values as herself. “I enjoy working with Youth who are willing to put in an effort, to become better versions of themselves”, says Taniora.
“To get time… you need to give time” is her message Taniora wants the Rangatahi she works with to know. For her, it’s important to build that connection and trust, to understand YOU in order to help you. Taniora feels that communication is the key. She is determined to guide and encourage our Rangatahi to achieve their aspirations within a supported environment where they can benefit from great leadership, are able to upskill and become successful.
Taniora enjoys hanging out with her whānau especially over a BBQ. Good company plus good kai equals good vibes! She enjoys visiting any scenic views, particularly beaches, watching her two boys play sport and taking them back to their Marae to disconnect with the world, RECONNECT and recharge their wairua.
Her qualifications are a NZ Certificate in Business (Administration and Technology) Level 3 and Certificate in Retail (Level 2).
