OUR PEOPLE

Darren was brought up in the sunny Hawke’s Bay with 2 siblings both older- 1 sister and 1 brother. Darren has moved around and lived in various Cities of NZ, including Auckland. He always come back to the Bay where he grew up.

What Darren enjoys about his role is meeting with people and getting to know them in a welcoming environment. Identifying what is going well and not so well, identifying strategies and achieving outcomes gives him satisfaction.

Darren was asked "what can you do for the community in your role?" His response was spend time with them, work together in partnership, identifying any concerns and making a plan so they can live their best life"

Outside of mahi Darren enjoys all sports, including Rugby, Kickboxing and Karate. He enjoys attending concerts, traveling, experiencing other cultures and trying new things.

Darren's greatest achievements in life so far are his marriage, being a parent to his 2 children and completing a Bachelor Degree in Nursing despite barriers that arose at the time of doing my Degree.

Darren holds a Bachelor Degree in Nursing, Diploma in Business Studies, Post Graduate in Mental Health.
