Service Manager - Health
Joined the team July 2018

Kath joined the Organisation as a Community Support Worker in the Family Start Team, Kath enjoyed helping the families in our Community be the best parents/guardians they can for their' tamariki, the adults of the future. Her only request of the families she works with, “Open the door when we knock. You will be opening the door to great support for you and your family”. Since then, Kath's role has progressed into being the Service Manager for Health.

Kath previously worked as a School-Based Nurse and post-crisis counsellor in Central Hawkes Bay. "You have to build a relationship and what I like about Te Kupenga Hauora - Ahuriri is that they understand the kaupapa. We don't put a time restriction in place. It's about taking things at the pace they (whānau we work with) need," says Kath.

Outside of work, Kath enjoys being part of a family who love and supports one another.  During her ‘downtime’, Kath enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, reading and walking by the sea.

Kath has a NZQA Certificate in Care of the Elderly, a Bachelor of Nursing (Registered Nurse) and a Post Graduate paper in Advanced Nursing - Assessment and Diagnostic Reasoning.
