Serena was born and raised in Napier.

When Serena was asked what she likes most about her role, Her response was, "I love being able to help people. No matter if it’s something big or small. So working for Te Kupenga Hauora Ahuriri is rewarding in that way. Being able to give back to our community. Giving the support and resources to all our kaimahi at Te Kupenga Hauora Ahuriri, so then they can do their mahi efficiently. Also the variety of service's we provide for our community."

Outside of mahi Serena enjoys spending time with her two daughters, her whanau and friends.

Serena's greatest achievement so far is hands down her two daughters. They are her reason why. She believes she is a strong wahine and a great role for her daughters. Another great achievement is being Board Chairperson of her daughter’s kura. Being able to support the Kaiako so they are able to nourish our tamariki in their learning.
