Administrator / Receptionist

We’re seeking a friendly, reliable, and culturally grounded Administrator/Receptionist to join our whānau at Te Kupenga Hauora – Ahuriri.

This role is far more than just a front-desk position — it’s a pivotal connector in our kaupapa Māori organisation. You will be the first point of contact for manuhiri, whānau, contractors, and staff, and your mahi will directly contribute to fostering a safe, inclusive, and uplifting space grounded in tikanga and the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

What You’ll Do – Ōu Kawenga Matua

  • Genuinely welcoming and manaaki manuhiri with professionalism and care
  • Ensuring a high standard of hospitality, cultural awareness, and inclusivity at all times
  • Managing office supplies and maintaining relationships with suppliers
  • Coordinating our organisation’s vehicle fleet, ensuring compliance with policies
  • Supporting daily operational functions to keep our tari running smoothly
  • Maintaining accurate records and data entry aligned with our quality systems
  • Fostering whanaungatanga by building strong relationships internally and externally
  • Supporting internal communications and teamwork to enhance Kotahitanga
  • Participating in organisational hui, cultural training, and professional development

What You Bring – Ōu Pūkenga me Ngā Āhuatanga

  • Integrity, honesty, and confidentiality in all interactions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (in-person and over the phone)
  • Strong computer and numeracy skills (proficient in Microsoft Office and data systems)
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Initiative and adaptability — you see what needs doing and do it
  • A warm and respectful approach, especially when working with tamariki, whānau and diverse communities
  • Commitment to the kaupapa, tikanga, and values of the organisation:
