Whanau Ora Navigator
The overarching principles that will guide this programme will include:
- Working with whānau to develop Whānau Ora plans that capture their moemoeā (dreams and aspirations)
- Ensure that whānau voice is captured within the plan and that it is strength based and whānau led.
- Supporting and identifying resources and services in the community that can help whānau to achieve their moemoeā and ultimately mana Motuhake.
A key function is to engage with clients and their whānau. This is to provide coordination and/or facilitating activities, services and opportunities to support the aspirations of whānau to become self-managing and take responsibility for their health, economic, cultural, social development and wellbeing.
The following would be preferable:
- A relevant qualification e.g. social work, youth work, health or humanities Level6 or above (Exceptions maybe available to people that have significant experience working with whānau and the community).
- Experience in working alongside whānau and good understanding of Whānau Ora and strengths-based practice.
- Ability to successfully facilitate wānanga and undertake assessment and developing plan alongside rangatahi and whānau / support networks; and
- Understanding of reporting and using databases and tools like e-mail, Microsoft Office and Teams
